Data Controller

Processing of customer data (name, address, identification data and financial data) collected from a customer in order to facilitate their leasing or purchase of a motor vehicle.

Processing of customer data collected by one of our suppliers (e.g. Visitor Chat) on behalf of Mike Brewer Motors for the purpose of facilitating the purchase of a motor vehicle.

For example: customer data may be processed as audio data (live phone call, call recordings), as text (Email, live chat) or in paper/electronic image format (customer proof of identity documents).

Our legal basis for processing your information

We only collect and process information about you that is necessary for us to enter into a contract with you to provide our services to you.

In these circumstances your data is being processed as it is necessary for the purposes of entering into a contract for services that you have requested.

Data protection law also allows us to use personal information for our genuine and legitimate reasons, as long as we respect your rights and freedoms. Such uses include checks to prevent fraud and money laundering. We collect proof of identity information, payment card or other customer payment information and driving licence information in order to establish your identity as part of selling or leasing you a motor vehicle.

  • We will share your information with your permission, with a credit brokerage or directly with funders, who may use automatic decision making as part of the funding decision process.
  • This may involve automatically requesting information from credit reference agencies (CRAs) and using this data along with the other data provided to assess your suitability for the goods/services requested.
  • To request a manual review of your application, please contact your funder/ credit broker.

Customer Services and Administration of our Services

Call recording and monitoring

We may monitor or record calls, emails, SMS messages or other communications for:

  • Quality control and training purposes.
  • Processing necessary for entering into or performance of a contract.
  • Ensuring effective operation of systems.
  • Meeting our regulatory obligations.

After transaction processing

  • We may conduct after-transaction surveys, via an independent third-party survey company. Some of your data may be passed to our supplier, to allow us to improve our products and services.
  • We use a third-party email marketing company to run marketing campaigns. If you consent to us marketing to you, and we run a marketing campaign, some of your data may be passed to this provider.
  • To handle enquiries and complaints: It is in our interests to make sure that complaints are investigated so that our customers receive a high standard of service, and we can prevent future complaints.

Data Retention
